Jack’s Point Waterfront & Lake Hotels

The architecture for the lake hotel draws inspiration from the dramatic mountainous landscape of Queenstown.

Imagined as a further ridge within the larger topography of the region, the form is cranked in consideration of wind direction and solar orientation. It forms a windbreak for the development to the north and defines the lake edge and proposed dock to the south. Breaks in the overall form create view corridors, breezeways and foyers for vertical circulation.

Arrival is via a deck across the lake. Passing by the lakeside restaurant visitors head to the reception located in the first breezeway with dramatic views towards the Remarkables. From here they can take a lift to the spa, bar and sky lounge all nestled between the folded forms of the hotel’s rooftop.

Night sky enthusiasts will especially enjoy New Zealand’s darkness to watch a comet or find a constellation from one of these sky rooms complete with open fires.
