Paint, lighting and joinery unify the oddments of an over-renovated 19th century building. A bright bold horizontal stripe composed of smaller gloss and matt vertical stripes makes a sweeping statement across the interior of the small ground floor eatery.
The background is pale acid green in gloss paint to the dado level, matt paint above. An array of short parallel fluorescent tube battens grouped on the ceiling cast subtle illumination. The upstairs function room utilises the same elements of paint and light to achieve an altogether mood. While there is no stripe the same approach to gloss and matt has been used with very dark brown, almost black and the strips of lighting are singular tubes placed at dado level.
