Excerpt by Katelin Butler
“Even though the new Eva and Marc Besen Centre at the Tarrawarra Museum of Art (page 20) is a standalone building, it has been designed as a response to the layered history of landscape and significant architectural works on site. Kerstin Thompson Architects’ addition supports the function of the original museum building and offers a new perspective on what exists – including the retained poplar trees that line the new sculpture walk. A respect for what has come before allows for a richer and more layered architectural outcome.”
